IT Service Management -
The Office of Government Commerce (OGC) IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) is widely regarded as defining best practice standards in the area of IT Service Support and Delivery. Qualifications are awarded by the Information Systems Examination Board (ISEB) at ITIL® Foundation, Practitioner and Manager level and the British Standard, BS15000, is based on this material.
Project Management -
PRINCE2^TM (Projects in Controlled Environments) is also an OGC standard, defining a best practice approach to managing the project lifecycle. PRINCE2^TM Foundation and Practitioner qualifications are awarded by the APM Group. In addition, the APMP qualification (awarded by the Association of Project Management) addresses the critical skill set of the Project Manager.
Programme Management -
Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), contains the OGC guidelines for successful managing a Programme of projects. Qualifications, awarded by APMG, are available at MSP Foundation, Practitioner and Advanced Practitioner level.
